Storyboard Quick 6

Background
• Storyboard Quick 6 is published by Power Production, a company based in California. StoryBoard Quick was the very first storyboarding software of it's kind and debuted at ShowBiz Expo in Los Angeles in 1993.
• Storyboard Quick is compatible with Mac and Windows.

License
• The user license allows you to install Storyboard Quick (for one same user) on 2 computers simultaneously, MAC/MAC or MAC and PC.
• The current version was released in 2009. Intra-version updates as free and can be accessed directly through the program

Easy to use and to install
• The Storyboard Quick application is very simple to install and to use.
• The installation procedure requires you to be connected to Internet.
• StoryBoard Quick gives you access to free Video Tutorials as well as a PDF manual.

Storyboard creation
• Storyboard Quick works in a very simple way: position your elements (characters, sets…) directly onto the scene with a simple Drag & Drop, and create your storyboard, picture by picture and scene by scene. 
 

• The camera is placed on a fixed axis. You can modulate the composition by changing the size and location of each element and the organization of the layers.
• Very useful; you can import pictures or digital photos into the application and add the characters from the Storyboard libraries.
• You can then add information (arrows, notes, etc.) to explain the movement of the characters or a camera.

Template management
• You can parameter the elements and personalize characters (color of their clothes, shoes, hair…). Nevertheless the attributes and accessories libraries are very limited. You can buy character libraries.
• You will also find in this software a large amount of sets (interior and exterior) that are ready for use.
 

Printing options
• Storyboard Quick provides several printing formats you can customize. You can also choose to print the indications in your screenplay on the same document.

Other functions
• A text zone enables you to type in your own comments, and then to print them with your storyboard pictures.
 

Compatibility with other applications (Final Draft, Movie Magic Screenwriter,…)
• Storyboard Quick allows you to import screenplays written with Movie Magic Screenwriter or Final Draft. This means you can storyboard a scene while visualizing the related text.
• A direct link exists between Movie Magic Screenwriter and Storyboard Quick, allowing you to work on the storyboard and screenplay in the same window.
• You can also import Scheduling Data from Gorilla, Movie Magic Scheduling and more.  Additionally, you can import .txt and .rtf documents created from any application.

Conclusion
Storyboard Quick is the ideal tool to easily and rapidly create a 2D storyboard without needing to know how to draw. Nevertheless, considering the limits of 2D and of the character libraries provided by the application, this tool will essentially be used for internal communication.
