Dramatica Pro 4

Background
This application was created over 15 years ago by Screenplay Systems and developed by Chris Huntley and Melanie Anne Phillips. It is based on the idea that every story has 4 threads:
1. The plot of the overall story
2. The Main Character plotline
3. The Impact Character plotline
4. The Main Character vs. Impact Character plotline.
• Dramatica Pro software is a creative writing partner. It helps you create great characters and plan your plot from start to finish.

Upgrade, Update and license
Dramatica exists in two versions.
Dramatica Writers’ Dreamkit, the beginner's version of Dramatica Pro.

The License allows you to install Dramatica twice (for the same user) on two computers simultaneously, MAC/MAC or MAC/PC. The same license applies to both.

Easy Installation
Dramatica is very easy to install and activate, no need to be an expert. We highly recommend an Internet connection for the activation, although it can also be carried out manually by phone with the online support.
 
Interface
The interface may seem old-fashioned compared to more recent software but we believe that methodology is the most important part of assistant creative applications such as this one. One rapidly forgets the ‘old’ interface. 

Structure your plot
• To use Dramatica, simply answer the application’s questions about your characters and plot. This will narrow down the possible ways of telling your story to the one that best expresses your vision. But don’t underestimate the time you will need to complete the process of creating a story. Dramatica Pro is not a magic box in which you simply insert words to create a script. Writing requires time and a lot of personal input.

• Story Engine: Responding to your choices, Dramatica shows you which character, plot and themes issues you need to address, and in what order, to end up with a perfectly structured story.
• Tutorial & Help: A complete online Tutorial nurtures you through the story creation process. Dramatica's searchable, indexed Help System provides accessible guidance instantly, while the entire online Dramatica Theory

• Theme Browser: In one glance, see how all your story's thematic elements interconnect.
• Plot Progression: Dramatica shows you the linear act structure of your 4 threads from beginning to end.

Import/Export
• Users of Movie Magic Screenwriter can import their Dramatica story treatment directly into a formatted script. All character names and descriptions, scene headings, and scene descriptions are formatted automatically - you'll be up and running on your first draft.

Dramatica Pro asks every question about your story that you should ask yourself but may well forget. Dramatica Pro works with you to develop stronger, richer characters that leap off the page while seamlessly weaving your themes into your plot.

Even though Dramatica’s vocabulary might seems difficult to understand at first glance, once you get use to it, it is an incredible writing tool.

But once again, don’t get it wrong, Dramatica Pro won’t write a full story in two days! You will still need days, even weeks to immerse yourself in the brainstorming cessions and finally write the story you dreamt of.
