Creating Other Characters

Too many characters in a story will confuse the audience. Generally, there is the hero (man or woman), and one or two other foreground characters that HELP the hero, give advice and support and listen to him/her. These characters can have a strong personal relationship with the hero.

Certain characters can intercede very occasionally, or have bit parts without making the story any less comprehensible.

In any case, you must create each of your characters with as much care as you create the hero. This is important for them to feel real, not flat and predictable.
